I am feeling really happy today. Today I got a call from my mom. She was sounding very excited. I have been looking forward to her visit from a long time now. Finally my mom is coming to be with me today.

And guess what- mom told me that she watched a show where they made very tasty cake of orange and apple mix. Oh- this is so, so, so good. I am elated. Mom was telling that she has been watching the show regularly and has noted down the recipe of the cake. She is bringing the recipe with her.

She also noted the recipes of two yummy salads and the good point is that there is no cheese, oil or any thing with high calories in it. Mom was saying the salad was looking absolutely delicious. This is very nice. Now me and mom will make all these dishes together.

Oh God- I am so excited. I am remembering the old days when me and mom used to make the food together. It will be like revisiting the old times. My mom is the best cook in this world. She is also my teacher. Whatever I know about cooking, the credit goes to my mom. I have learnt everything from her. She is always trying new dishes and has even made her own recipes.

When I am with my mom working in the kitchen, I feel real bliss. It is like the entire world has become just the two of us making food. Ever since my kids have grown up, they also love to come and sit in the kitchen when mom is here. They keep on asking the most silly questions to mom and she answers them all so much love. It makes my heart so happy to see them together.

As soon as mom will come, I will check out if all ingredients are there at home. Then we will make the cake and salad. Oh God- my mouth is already watering. You know what- it is my mom who taught me all about kitchen and also shopping for it. All these things have helped me a lot in life.

I think that everyone should know atleast the basic cooking aspects. It is most important. If not for others, we should learn it for ourselves. Food is the most important thing and for how long can we depend upon others. It doesn’t matter whether you are a guy or girl- everyone should learn it. I will make sure both my kids learn cooking and also appreciate it.

The ‘common man’ roamed about in the house with greater energy. It seemed he was still a school going boy excited about a new bag. The common man and his mom made the dishes and the entire family sat together and ate it. Outside the cold wind was blowing and snow flakes were covering everything possible. But the common man’s home was warm with the joy of love and togetherness.
