Recently I have discovered a new stall in the market near my place. It supplies hot dogs and burgers. I was pretty excited about it. I was returning from the market after shopping when I saw it. A lot of people were buying things from there. I decided to check the food some other time.

Next time when I went there, there was hardly any crowd. There was an old lady managing the stall and a teenage boy was helping her. I talked to them when they packed my food. The lady told me that she and her son had great expectations from the stall. Something about the lady’s voice touched my heart. It somehow reminded me of my mom.

My mind took me back to a time when me and my mom used to go door to door and sell things. I saw that everything in the stall was clearly arranged. It was so clean. The boy was helping out his mother. I asked him about school and he told me that he was in eighth standard. He helped his mother after school hours.

It was a modest stall but the food was absolutely awesome. I couldn’t help licking my fingers after eating it. Someone who said that good and tasty food has nothing to do with fancy hotels is absolutely right. Everyday when I pass through their stall, I see a lot of people purchasing food from there. It makes my heart swell with pride. Hard work has no equivalent. Whenever anyone works sincerely and in right direction, it always yields results. This is what my mom told me.

There are lots of people in this world who start like that. It requires courage to be lost and then find things again. My heart goes out to all the people out there who are striving to live their lives with smile. There is so much light in their hearts that no amount of darkness can ever envelop them. This is something that only life teaches you.

Let me take your leave now. I have to go to the market and do something very important today. Let me take your leave. Bye.

The ‘common man’ went to the market for an important assignment. It was a colleague’s birthday in office and he was keen to give a hotdog treat to everyone in the office after the common man had praised the food from the stall so much. It was a substantial order. The common man placed his order with the old lady and her son. They jotted down the address and looked at common man with delight. The sparkle of quiet confidence in their eyes made the common man realize that the birthday treat was going to be a great success.
