I am very sad today. I was reading the newspaper in morning and I read an article about a twenty year old girl who met with accident and lost her legs. Her picture was there in the paper. She seemed to be a spunky girl. The article said that she was studying journalism. Oh God- may God give peace and happiness to people who he made to suffer so much.
It is sheer injustice. When I looked at the picture of that girl, I thought about my kids. Oh God- no. please never do this to my kids. I will never be able to take it God. I can’t even imagine the agony of her parents. I read that the girl now wants to be a newsreader. She is trying to complete her studies and then will go for job interviews. All my prayers are with her.
It is so strange. Life it seems sometimes is a joke. Anything can happen to us anytime. We can all be become disabled at any point of time. This feeling is very terrifying. Only yesterday, someone in the office was telling me about a couple who have two kids and they both have a genetic disease related to spinal cord. The Kids can’t walk and move around in the house in wheel chair. Their parents have designed their home in such a way that they feel free but the moment they go outside for their school, their freedom is lost.
Oh God- it requires great courage to live such a life. It all seems glamorous when we read in newspapers and see the smiling faces of these people posing for cameras but behind these smiling faces are millions of moments of suffering. I can’t even begin to imagine their life.
What should I say? I can only say one thing. May God stop testing people too much. This is not right and there can be no justification for it. As for me- I am too small to understand or live this. I am just scared of all these things.
Let me take your leave now. I am going to check on my kids and my wife. I will not feel peace till they will all return back to home. Please take care. Bye.
The ‘common man’ tiptoed into his kid’s room and watched them as they slept peacefully. In his heart was a silent prayer to God that he takes care of them always. He also prayed for the health and happiness of every kid in this world. Everything seemed hazy for a moment before the common man realized that there were tears in his eyes.
