Me and my son have started jogging every morning nowadays. I must confess the entire credit goes to my son. He is the one who pulled me into this and I am enjoying this so much.

I was an athletic and very fit guy some fifteen years ago. But somewhere down the line, I became extremely lazy and careless about my body and fitness. I stopped exercising completely. In stark contrast to me- my wife has always kept herself very fit. She has been going to gym every single day and enjoys it absolutely. She hates and feels very guilty if she has to miss her routine for even a day.

My daughter too is very conscious of what she eats and how much she works out. She cycles a lot and that keeps her fit. My son is an athlete. He participates in every race in his school and has won many awards. So I am the only one in my family who is the odd one out.

My kids have been after my life and so we finally planned to go for a jogging session every morning. It’s been two weeks now and I am feeling really good. In the beginning, I felt very tired and found it a useless activity. But now I really look forward to it. I wake up early morning, go for the jog and the fresh air just make me feel good from inside. I have realized that I feel more energetic the entire day now.

My son has been a great help. His speed is much better than me but still he slows down and accompanies me while I jog. This makes me feel so happy and proud. I have also started recognizing familiar faces in the park. They are all there at that time in the park. It’s really nice to see how so many people are health conscious nowadays. The park is mostly filled with people. It gives me happiness.

Oh God!!!!!!!! I can’t imagine how many years I have missed out this simple pleasure by just being ignorant. But now I have decided that I will take care of myself. Thanks to my kids.

I must take your leave now. Please take care. Bye.

The ‘common man’ improved his speed and stamina everyday and was thrilled when he could match up with his son steps without him slowing down.
