You know what- I have never traveled by air till now. I know you will laugh when you will hear this. But this is true. I have never been on a plane till date.

I have never traveled anywhere whole my life. All the years I have spent first going from home to school, then from home to college and now from home to office. All the places have been very near to each other. Rather they are so near that most of the times, I walk to my office. It’s only when there is some urgency that I take a cab or when I am going out with my family.

So I just missed out on traveling by plane. I always wonder what it must be like to be on a plane. To be so high up in sky in the air and between the clouds. The experience must be surreal. I remember as a kid I used to wave my hand at the passing airplanes thinking that the pilot will see me. Now I can’t stop laughing at all those foolish ideas of mine.

My kids say that I belong to the ancient times when I talk like this. But they will not understand. They have grown up in a world where traveling by plane is so common place. My wife and kids have all traveled by plane many times. They find it so normal. They feel irritated when I start adding adjectives to the flying experience.

Once a friend of mine told me when the plane is passing over a city- it is very beautiful. You can see endless number of lights shining brightly underneath. Oh- I often wonder what it must be like.

I am making plans to get hold of the very first opportunity and travel by air. I really want to live this experience. But let me take your leave now. Please take care. Bye.

The ‘common man’ made many plans. He even decided to get a ticket reserved but something or the other always interrupted his plans. The common man didn’t lose heart. He knew he will travel by plane and feel the experience very soon.
